Skin needling, also known as micro needling, is a facial treatment that uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin.
It is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) and works by stimulating collagen and elastin production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin texture and tone, minimising scarring, reducing hyper-pigmentation and shrinking pores.
Skin needling can be done every 4 weeks and it is recommended to complete 4-6 treatments for desired results.
Skin Needling doesn’t cause sensitivity, it is fast healing with minimal downtime.
What to Expect & Aftercare
Following your skin needling treatment, mild redness is normal and may last anywhere from 2–12 hours. Immediately after the needling, your skin is soothed with a cooling, anti-inflammatory sheet mask and cold therapy to calm heat, reduce redness, and support the skin’s recovery. Many clients leave with minimal visible redness.
Post-Treatment Care
For the first 24 hours, nothing is applied to the skin. After this period, we recommend keeping your routine simple and supportive—using only a gentle cleanser, moisturiser, and broad-spectrum SPF for 3–5 days.
Pre-Treatment Preparation
To minimise the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, a tyrosinase inhibitor must be used for at least two weeks prior to your skin needling appointment. This may include ingredients such as Vitamin C, retinol, azelaic acid, or liquorice root. Daily SPF use is essential during this time.
It is important to avoid sun exposure and fillers/botox for at least two weeks prior to the treatment. Also cease using Vitamin A/Retinol three days prior to your treatment.
Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a detailed consultation and consent form outlining all pre- and post-treatment care, along with everything you need to know before your appointment 🤍
